Despite being one of the newer kids on the block in terms of online UK betting entities, MoPlay have begun really well and are steadily building up a good relationship with their growing customer base.

With high performing apps, a solid web platform and one of the most comprehensive football betting market sections anywhere in the sector, MoPlay have used their connections with Manchester United and Watford well to engage with football bettors, though they are now looking to increase their horse racing market share too.

Here we take a good look at what they have to offer in terms of bonuses, racing markets, security, banking and customer service.

MoPlay Sign Up Offer

Similar to offers delved out by some of the established, former high street bookmakers in the UK, MoPlay’s opening offer for new customers is their Bet £10, Get £30 deal.

Any new customer signing up to MoPlay, as long as nobody else in the household or using the same device has an account already, can take advantage by opting in during the registration process, depositing funds and then making a first qualifying bet within 13 days.

The qualifying bet must be at £10 or more, must be at odds of 1/2 (1.50) or bigger and can only be done once.  From there, MoPlay will reward you with 2 x £15 free bets to make up the full bonus.

You can use these free bets on any market other than virtual sports, pre-match or in-play and they will expire within 7 days of landing in your account if you do not use them up.  There are some other conditions attached, such as only the win part of an each-way bet counting towards the bonus, but these are all listed under the offer’s terms and conditions and are very easy to understand.

Given the size of this firm, one still growing, this bonus seems perfectly fair and without throwing too many harsh conditions in the mix they are offering 3 x what your initial bet was worth, which is definitely a positive.

MoPlay Ongoing Promotions

The promotions page is easy to find, right at the top left of the home screen and it features usually around 9 ongoing offers for new and existing customers, including the welcome offer detailed above.

Crucially, they do offer best odds guaranteed on their horse racing markets, from 9AM onwards on the day of the race, something we think should now be a given but it not always offered by all.

Horse racing is also including in MoPlay’s upgrade your odds deal, meaning on selected marketed you can take a price boost on your selection, beefing up its odds.

You can claim a £5 free bet with MoPlay’s Club ProMo, essentially a form of acca insurance.  As long as you bet £10 or more on trebles and upwards at odds of 1/2 (1.50) or bigger you get a free fiver bet, once per week, and it must be used up with three days.

Other deals usually surround whatever sporting events are currently ongoing, such as a free £5 in-play bet on the NBA Finals or the same on the French Open tennis.  You have to place a bet of £10 or more to get this, but the return is still pretty good.

Given that the odds boost works for horse racing and BOG is offered, the current promotions from a horse racing backer’s point of view are fairly strong and so any more being added to the stable would just be a very welcome bonus.

Security

Once more, we are dealing only with sites licensed and regulated by the UK Gambling Commission, notoriously stricter than some world territories when it comes to minimum expectations regarding security and safeguarding.

As such, MoPlay has a fairly stringent security system in place to protect all of your sensitive information, whether banking or personal, with their SSL encryption delivered by Comodo, one of the biggest names in the field.

While the head office is based in Malta, they do operate under the full permission of the Gambling Commission and are checked regularly with player protection at the forefront of their policies, meaning what we’ve found is a reputable and trustworthy firm.

MoPlay are fully signed-up with GamCare meaning any vulnerable players will be kept from harm and overall we’ve rate their safety and security more than satisfactory.

Moplay Horse Betting Features

Quick links on the site are to the left of the screen, with horse racing given a prominent position.  The section has both UK & Ireland as well as International markets listed, the latter generally just concerning South African racing on a day-to-day basis.

Although their futures (ante-post) do include odds for things like the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe and the Melbourne Cup, the section is very limited and we could do with seeing some American and French action each day as these are televised in the UK and are increasingly in popularity with punters.

The domestic section naturally is a little better, as mentioned you can claim occasional odds boost and get best odds guaranteed on your bets too but only after 9AM each day.

The UK & Irish ante-post section is much fuller with odds looking fair at a glance across the board, while for current racing you’ll find the same ‘today’ and ‘tomorrow’ platform you would on ComeOn!

Like with ComeOn!, as the platform is the same, you’ll see only the basic racecard information upon clicking into an individual event such as runners and riders, draw and latest odds.  We’d like to see more given to the punter here including some excerpts from the Racing Post or Timeform as we see elsewhere, along with a tip.

Live streaming is not currently offered either and this may not affect new customer who aren’t aware it’s available elsewhere, but it very much does mean that seasoned backers looking to get away from bet365, SkyBet, Ladbrokes and the like would be put off by this.

The odds are generally fair, nothing to write home about but certainly too restrictive either as it seems the oddsmakers at MoPlay are aiming at the middle ground; not wanting to give too much away while also not looking to be labelled as tight.

Overall the horse racing section is a little basic for our taste; even without streaming we could do with seeing more offers, more information and definitely a beefed-up international section.

Other Betting Markets

Given their official affiliations with both Manchester United and Watford, MoPlay started out very much targeting the football punters and in today’s gambling world that was probably very wise!

It’s no surprise then that such backers are very well looked after with hundreds of markets to choose from, both pre-match and in-play, with a bunch of other sports and events also catered for, the full list being:

American Football, Aussie Rules Football, Badminton, Baseball, Basketball, Beach Soccer, Beach Volleyball, Boxing, Cricket, Cycling, Darts, E-Sports, Football, Futsal, Gaelic Football, Gaelic Hurling, Golf, Greyhounds, Handball, Horse Racing, Ice Hockey, MMA, Motor Racing, Netball, Poltics, Rugby League, Rugby Union, Snooker, Specials, Speedway, Table Tennis, Tennis, Volleyball, Water Polo and Virtual Sports.

Overall there are enough markets to say this is a fair offering for sports bettors, while prices on the whole look fine too.  While we can understand odds compilers at a firm the size of MoPlay aiming for that middle ground, we’d suggest the way to move forward is to get a name by offering bigger prices and smaller margins on both football and horse racing.

Mobile Betting Options & Apps

Little do some people know, but the ‘Mo’ in MoPlay actually stands for mobile and it’s from this very perspective that the business started out.  With that in mind, we were not surprised to see their live betting sections perform so well on smartphones and tablets as this is the very essence of MoPlay.

This firm is aiming itself squarely at those who like to bet on the move, catching those casual mobile punters who love to bet on live football games (hence their football markets being strongest) and they do this with a strong offering of both the mobile site and the app.

As they both work so well, it really is simply up to you which way you go with this, i.e. if you want to reach MoPlay with one click then the app is best, but if you don’t want to download anything then the mobile site works just as well.

The styling and the interface are excellent and it’s clear they’ve concentrated on streamlining, with popular bets incredibly quick and easy to place.  The app makes it easy to manoeuvre yourself around from one page to the next and nothing is left out compared to the main site; all offers, for new and existing customers, can be reached and all information and contact services are apparent.

A full banking suite is available so, just as is the case with any good modern brand, you don’t need to use the desktop version of the site to even sign-up or withdraw any funds. Overall a very good effort.

Banking Options

The minimum deposit is set at £10 and we’d like to see that halved to help along the smaller players.  Here’s a full list of their banking options:All options are free of any fees, but they are quite coy on what the maximums are for withdrawal and deposits.  If you are a big player though, simply contact their customer services department (see below).  We imagine their limits are large, as the maximum payouts are £500,000 for horse racing and £1million for football.

Customer Support

The help section of the website gives a whole array of pre-written answers in an FAQ-style format, without really pushing a customer service number of email address.  There is however a Live Chat function, which we love, meaning you can get written answers to any queries almost instantly.

We say almost as, unlike in the case of the major firms, you could be place in a queue but this is still far easier than doing so on a phone line or waiting hours or days for an email response.

In fact, you may find this your only option as it is very hard to get a number for the firm at all, they really do want to resolve everything online.  That’s fine, but the option of having a number to call to be able to explain your query would be much appreciated.

So, while in written form MoPlay reps seem polite and courteous, we can’t claim the level of service is terrific as there needs to be more than one way to get in touch.

Moplay Company Details

Very much aimed at the mobile crowd, especially football fans, MoPlay has only been in existence since 2018 and is still very much finding its feet as it were.
Having gained strong initial investment, the brand out of Gibraltar have not been shy in spending money, hence their sponsorship deals and good web platforms, but of course they need to build a strong customer base before they can even think about attacking the big boys.  They are licensed in Malta and by the UK Gambling Commission.

Moplay Bottom Line

Having only been around for what feels like five minutes, MoPlay have made a very good start with their slick app and mobile site designs and strong football offering.

Their bonus is fair and their odds are not too tight, though we’d like to see more thought given to those looking to bet on horse racing with a better international section, more racing-specific offers and slightly higher odds, at least on certain races.

Live streaming is a must in the longer term but for now, taking into account how young the platform is, we can have few complaints.
